choosing the right surgeon

Unfortunately many surgeons, and even some non-surgeons offer vasectomy reversals taking advantage of the fact that they can charge privately. This is bad.

Vasectomy reversals are hard to do. They require expertise in microsurgery and expertise in male infertility. This expertise is rare but success rate are greater than double those who are untrained.

Before choosing a surgeon make sure of the following:

1) They are fellowship trained in microsurgery and Andrology
2) They use an operating microscope
3) They are prepared to perform and are comfortable performing a vasoepididymostomy
4) They specialize in the management of male infertility
5) They are a Urologist

If the answer is no to any of these questions, they are not the right surgeon for you.

All this information is in the public domain and is easily attainable or just ask the surgeon.

Be careful.
